Red Light, Green Light is a free browser game you play together with your Twitch chat. There is nothing to install, and viewers don't need an extension or a new account: they join by typing !play in chat. You run the game from this page and show it on stream with OBS or any other streaming software.
No. Viewers only use Twitch chat. Typing !play is enough to join.
No. The game reads the public chat of your channel, the same way an anonymous viewer would.
Add a Browser Source with the address of this page. Put #obs at the end of the address to skip the welcome screen, and turn on the transparent background in Settings if you want the game to float over your scene.
Viewers see your stream a few seconds after you do. The reaction time makes sure nobody is knocked out for a message they sent before red light reached their screen.
Yes. The game is free to use on your stream.
The reaction time covers your stream delay: viewers see red light a few seconds later than you do. Messages within that window don't score and don't knock anyone out. With normal Twitch delay, 3 to 4 seconds works well; with low latency, 2 seconds is enough.
Turn your stream into a game show. Your viewers play straight from Twitch chat: no downloads, no sign-ups. You run the game from this page and put it on screen for everyone to watch.
Before the game starts, viewers type !play in your Twitch chat.
Every chat message is worth 1 point. Type as fast as you can.
Stop typing. Anyone who chats now is out.
When the timer runs out, the player still in with the most points wins.
The light switches at random moments, so nobody can guess what comes next.
Putting it on stream: add this page to OBS as a Browser Source, or capture this browser window. Stream mode hides the controls so only the game is visible. You can change the language and timing in Settings.
